The Ohio State University President Ted Carter said Sunday that he thinks Ivy League schools are in \u201csurvival mode\u201d when asked about Columbia University\u2019s settlement<\/a> with the Trump administration.<\/p>\n In an interview on CBS News\u2019s \u201cFace the Nation,\u201d moderator Margaret Brennan asked Carter whether he\u2019s troubled by the \u201cprecedent\u201d that the settlement sets and whether he would have agreed to a similar deal to resolve a hypothetical dispute with the administration.<\/p>\n \u201cI can’t speak to those institutions because I’m not leading them,\u201d Carter responded.<\/p>\n \u201cI know both President Shipman and some of the other Ivy League presidents are colleagues, and they’re having to do, I think, what I would call, be in survival mode, quite frankly,\u201d he said, referring to acting Columbia University President Claire Shipman.<\/p>\n \u201cWe’re not going through any of that here at Ohio State, and nor do I think that we will,\u201d Carter added.<\/p>\n
